Fantastic shot of the beautiful "Denison Doors"
by Kal Biro
-------------------------------------
These doors once graced the main
entrance of the administration building
of the Elliot lake Denison Mine, the world's largest uranium facility of its
time.
Graciously donated to the City of Elliot Lake, the doors are now a proud part of
the Nuclear and Mining Museum display and are at the entrance of the Lester
Lester B Pearson Centre on Highway 108 where the Nuclear Museum is housed.
The intricate design incorporates abstract impressions of atoms,
machinery and equipment reminiscent of our mining era.
Singly each door is a masterpiece; in combination they are a unique work of art.
